A message from Myla Flores, Executive Director of The Birthing Place Foundation
I truly hope we as a community can call on the power of possibility, even in the midst of challenge. There are many aspects of fertility, pregnancy, and birth finding their way into this difficult, rewarding process. Birth is possibility. Every birth—of a child, of a dream, of a community effort—holds the power to remake the world a little more whole. The Birthing Place was born from that same spirit: a belief that when we center care, culture, and connection, we all thrive.
Each workshop, each Womb Bus visit, each story shared reminds me that we’re co-creating something larger than ourselves: a movement for belonging and wellness that begins with birth but radiates far beyond it.
Extending our impact into a brick and mortar clinic, Maryam Reproductive Health + Wellness is a great step towards building our birth center and supporting many more initiatives that uplift our mission. Providing more direct service and care to people, regardless of their plans to conceive is fundamental. When we are trusted to further care for news and expectant parents, it is not taken for granted. The conversations shared remind me that healing begins when we are seen, heard, and supported. That is the heartbeat of this work.
When you invest your time, your energy, your resources—or simply your prayers—into The Birthing Place, you are helping to build a joyful and sustainable ecosystem of care. You are helping families feel safe in their bodies, confident in their choices, and surrounded by community.
Together, we’re not just creating a birth center—we’re nurturing a movement that celebrates life in all its beauty and belonging.
With gratitude and love,
Myla Flores
